Planning Manager
Roles &
Responsibilities
The Project Planning Manager will
report to the Manager of Product Services. You will lead a team of
professionals in developing forest management projects nationally and
internationally concerning carbon credit programs. You will liaison between the
operations teams, stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in forestry and
at least three years related experience preferred; Associate's Degree in
forestry with at least five years forestry related job experience may be
substituted.
- Experience and knowledge of
resources management principles, practices, and planning related to forest
management on Crown and private forests.
- Demonstrated leadership and
project management skills, including experience in leading task teams,
coordinating projects and managing issues.
- Strong knowledge of research and
analytical thinking as well as decision making processes and strategic
planning.
- Ability to exercise good
judgment, tact/diplomacy to contribute effectively to or lead multidisciplinary
teams.
- Demonstrated ability to liaison
with proponents, consultants, and the public.
- Knowledge of and ability to use
computer applications including word processing, databases, spreadsheets,
forest analytical tools, basic GIS, and presentation software.
- Willingness to travel and to work
in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Practical experience of ecosystem
management in Central and South America is considered an asset.
