CFC is currently seeking applications for Forest Engineers and Silviculture Surveyors interested in challenging and varied work in northwest BC. The permanent and seasonal positions are suitable for both:

• Recent graduates or students of a recognized forest technology or degree program with skills or interest in forest engineering and/or silviculture.

And…

• Experienced Forest Engineers or Silviculture Surveyors looking to relocate or seek new challenges.

Duties may include the following, and are dependant on the current level of experience:

Engineering

• Road reconnaissance, layout and design, including major drainage structure location, site plan, design
• Cutblock layout for a variety of harvest systems, including deflection lines, boundary establishment and traversing
• Timber reconnaissance and timber cruising (Coastal CGNF and interior)
• Archaeological feature identification
• Report preparation
• Crew supervision

Silviculture

• Silviculture Surveys
• Silviculture treatment prescriptions
• Report preparation

CFC is a mid-sized consulting firm in operation since 1994 with an established clientele (Ministry of Forests, BC Timber Sales, First Nations, local forest companies, private land and woodlot owners) and reputation. Interested individuals must be physically fit, able to carry out assigned tasks in challenging conditions, be safety minded and willing to grow into a leadership role.

Successful applicants should have a valid Class 5 drivers' license. Successful applicants will work in a team atmosphere with focused goals and can count on support from peers and others, and called upon to supply the same in turn. Wages are competitive and are based on experience and performance. Work schedules are flexible. Benefit packages are available.
