The Canadian Council of Forest Ministers (CCFM) is composed of fourteen federal, provincial and territorial ministers (elected officials). Each year members of the Council assume the responsibility of the chair for the Council. Northwest Territories will assume the chair in 2005-2006, followed by Manitoba in 2007. The secretariat for the Council is provided by the Canadian Forest Service. International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) a non-profit organization established and supported by the Governments of Canada and Manitoba. IISD's mandate is to promote sustainable development in decision making within government, business and the daily lives of individuals in Canada and internationally.

International Journal of Forest Engineering provides information on forest engineering articles published since 1989 accessible though a key word search index. In addition, the site lists forest engineering academic jobs, forest engineering organizations from around the world.

International Tropical Timber Organization - The ITTO is a commodity organization which brings together countries which produce and consume tropical timber to discuss and exchange information and develop policies on all aspects of the world tropical timber economy. The ITTO is headquartered in Yokohama, Japan and at July 2001 had 57 members, including the European Community, which together represent 95 percent of world trade in tropical timber and 75 percent of the world's tropical forests.
